Homemade Vegan Keto Protein Bars Recipe
Protein Bar Recipe Origins
Interesting that the first versions of today’s protein bars were destined to be ‘out of this world.’ Space food sticks “launched” in the 1960’s. Then space exploration went out of fashion. Athlete Brian Maxwell founded PowerBar in the late 80’s.
From humble beginnings handing his “perfect energy bars” out to marathon runners after their races, he went on to sell his company to Nestle in 2000 for almost $375 mil!!
How easy is this recipe to make?
The trickiest part of this of making these vegan keto protein bars is melting and tempering your velvety dark chocolate. Once you’ve perfected that, you’re set!
Will These Low Carb Protein Bars Break The Vegan Keto Bank?
No way! This is the best, most cost-effective way to boost your energy with vegan keto protein bars you can trust. And you know exactly what has gone into it. Don’t skimp on the quality of the chocolate though.
Vegan Keto Secret Tip
Check your labels and be very careful about buying plant-based protein bars. Unfortunately, many energy bars are laced with sugars that will very quickly kick you out of keto.
Also, while many labels say vegan friendly…in the dreaded fine print you could find that your product “may contain traces of eggs, milk and other very non-vegan bits.”
Look for brands with ethical values…and always look closely!
Really, you just need a food processor, a square or rectangular tin with a bit of depth and enough room in the freezer for your protein bar mixture to set!
Get into a protein bar cook up when you’re in an energetic mood!
This is a great thing to do in the morning before you have exercise planned, so you can have a super fresh superfood energy-packed snack before you begin!
