Smoothies are fabulous because you get a concentrated dose of goodness with every sip! And our Vegan Keto Avocado Smoothies will totally hit the right spot. What’s great about them is that you can replace a whole meal with an avocado smoothie.
Why Avo Smoothies Rock Our World
Smoothies are the best delivery method ever invented.
Well, how else can you fit an avo, 3 carrots, a bunch of parsley, 4 sticks of celery, half a beetroot, a pineapple, 2 tomatoes, and one freshly squeezed OJ into one meal? Smoothies are like the new replacement for supplements. Why supplement when you can chug a few smoothies down the hatch at regular intervals, and meet your RDV in all categories!
But what makes our Vegan Keto Avocado Smoothies so sublime is their simplicity. And their high-fat content. Avocado and coconut milk are the two main ingredients. So less is more in this case.
But having said that, there is nothing stopping you from adding to this smooth green glass of pure goodness. And you don’t have to go wild. Just by adding a teaspoon of turmeric and a dash of black pepper (it activates the phytocompounds of the turmeric) you have a completely different drink.
Or add a handful of blueberries to give it a healthy immune-boosting edge.
Even better still, throw all caution to the wind and try these easy-to-make Avo Choc Brownies, yum-yum, drool!! Okay so there’s not a smoothie in sight but avocados are so versatile.
How easy is it to make Vegan Keto Avocado Smoothies?
Once again, we have a simple, easy to make, vegan keto snack that you can have for breakfast, as a dessert, or just by itself (because you can).
I must just say, one thing that I still can’t get over is how utterly hassle-free vegan keto meal prepping is. Eating vegan keto has transformed the way I approach eating and preparing meals. And it’s made me fall in love with natural, whole foods all over again.
This vegan keto avocado smoothie is a prime example.
Will this recipe break the vegan keto bank?
Hells NO!! Another misconception that we can clear up here. If you were like me then you know what I’m talking about. The thought of buying items like nut flours, and nut butters, and a whole range of oils from hemp to MCT sounds super expensive.
But it’s all relative. It’s not like we add on to our previous shopping lists. We actually change it completely so the new things we need to stock up on are replacing products and it really does balance out. In my opinion, vegan keto meals cost far less than a straight keto diet. And often the pantry items have a shelf life so with some clever planning you can cash in on bulk buy savings and specials.
But let’s get back to our vegan keto avo smoothies.
Vegan Keto Avocado Smoothie Hero Ingredient
Of course, it is the avocado pear. Avos are native to South America. Mexico to be exact. And did you know the avo is actually a berry!! That factoid threw me big time. It’s like when I found out that coconuts are actually DRUPES! LOL!
Avos are so nutrient-dense that they can actually replace mother’s milk in emergencies. Here is a link to a really interesting article that goes into much detail on how fantastic the avo is as a supplemental food for infants and young children.
Let’s not forget the bold and bodacious coconut tree. In fact, I don’t think vegan keto would be possible without the two main ingredients this smoothie is made from. The coconut palm is another food plant that blows my mind because it has so many uses. Almost every part of the coconut palm produces something beneficial and healthy. Besides the actual coconut, you also get the coconut sap, which gets turned into coconut sugar. And there’s an alcoholic beverage called toddy. Coconts are one of the most sustainable food crops on the planet at the moment!
Do yourself a favor and invest in a Nutribullet if you are big into drinking smoothies. But if you can’t afford one any old hand blender will do just fine.
I like the Nutribullet is because it crushes ice and nuts without a problem. The Magic Bullet is also a popular brand and it’s half the price. BUT it’s only 250 watts and the Nutri is 900! I lovely my Nutribullet, it was a good investment and makes my life so much easier.
