There is nothing like the thirst-quenching, slightly tart, slightly sweet contrast of frozen orange popsicles, on a hot summer’s day. And these Vegan Keto Frozen Orange Popsicles do not disappoint!
I think frozen orange popsicles have always been vegetarian. Just sugar, cream, and water really, and loads of artificial additives, colorants, and flavorings. LOL! But they haven’t always been keto! Anything but!
Vegan Keto Orange Juice Iced Pops, on the other hand, are really healthy because they only have 4 ingredients, all-natural, free from anything artificial. These popsicles get made with a natural sugar substitute, in this recipe it’s stevia, but you can use a sugar-free alternative of your choice, as long as it’s keto-friendly.
The Low Down On Keto Frozen Orange Popsicles
Normal keto popsicles are loaded with heavy whipping cream but these vegan keto frozen popsicles get made with organic double-thick coconut cream. To thicken the coconut milk if it needs thickening, just use 1/2 – 1 tsp (level) of guar gum or some xanthum gum.
And of course, the other main ingredient is orange juice, preferably freshly squeezed. You can use any citrus fruit juice. I like Ruby Grapefruit. But Mandarin, also known as Tangerine, or Naartjie is a nice sweet juice in contrast. Adding additional sweetener, keto-approved, like stevia, is the cherry on the top.
How Easy Are They To Make?
On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being easy, these keto frozen popsicles score 12!
Will They Break Vegan Keto Bank?
A big FULL-FAT resounding NO!! You can churn these suckers out until there’s no space left in the freezer.
Keto Frozen Orange Popsicles Hero Ingredient
Coconut Cream: And not just any coconut cream. This brand, Let’s Do Organic, has a coconut cream that is ideal for recipes that call for double-thick whipping cream! I don’t think there could be vegan keto without coconuts!
